God is Faithful to say "No"

Many of you know that I have been praying about and moving towards doing a church-planting internship in the country of Poland this Fall. God has directed and shown me very clearly that this is not the right timing to do this. At this point, it has been postponed till next year (possibly next summer) for a variety of different reasons. The first of them being: God has clearly shown me that this is not the right timing. The second: I want to reconnect with my family and my sending church. The third: I am going to look into other internship options as well.

It truly is a blessing to know that God is faithful to shut doors. I have always had a lingering fear that I would push past the Lord and do what I wanted to do regardless of whether or not He wanted me to do it. This week has been an encouraging time in my walk with the Lord. He has shown me that He will make it absolutely clear when His answer is "no". . . if I am listening. It has been difficult to make this decision, but it has been a sweet time of fellowship with God at the same time.

I have grown in my knowledge of Him in how he says "no."
I have grown in my knowledge of Him in how he gives contentment even in disappointment.
I have learned that he can lead in a certain direction, but then later shut the door. He does this because He wants me to learn from the journey and He wants me to learn how He says "no."
In all things, He is in control. He is guiding. He is faithful.

Sooooooooooooo, stay tuned! :-) He will continue to direct and I am still praying about possibly going to Poland next summer! It will be in His timing, not mine! Thank you all for your prayers! I really appreciate your support!

  1. Sorry to hear about your change of plans, but excited about how God has been working in your life! I like how you mentioned that "He is faithful to *shut* doors...if I am listening"--I needed to hear that!
